Data from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) shows that a semi-truck can weigh as much as 80,000 pounds when fully loaded. According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, there were more than 23,000 total crashes involving mid- to heavy-weight trucks during the latest reporting year of data. Unfortunately, 192 people were killed in these collisions, and there were more than 4,600 total injuries.
